Growth and income funds are designed to increase the value of your principal investment over time while at the same time providing regular income. Investments are made primarily in stocks or bonds or a combination of both.

Equity and Income Funds:

Equity and income funds are designed to provide or increase income while at the same time striving for capital growth. Investments are made primarily in stocks or bonds or a combination of both.

Income Funds:

Income funds are designed to provide a high level of current income. Investments are made primarily in interest-paying bonds and dividend paying stocks.

Variable Annuities1

Seeks to provide retirement income or lump sum payment based on regular long term or lump sum investment during the "building" phase and then regular income or lump sum payment during the "withdrawal" phase. Taxes are deferred until funds are withdrawn. A death benefit is usually guaranteed.
